Welcome to The People's Review

The People's Review is a new and exciting way to participate in research, where you decide all the major steps of a systematic review. Check out this video to find out more about what systematic reviews are and why you should get involved in The People's Review

Anyone can take part - you don't need any special skills or training. We will help you along the way. It's a fun, free way to enjoy science while doing a little bit of good in the world.

How The People's Review will work.

Everything takes place online.

1: Suggest a Question

All good reviews start with a good question. We would like you to suggest questions we might use for The People's Review.

2: Choose the Question

From your suggestions, we will get a list of great questions. However, The People's Review can only answer one question and YOU will choose it. We will ask you to vote for your favourite question in two rounds of surveys.

3: Plan the Review

We want to hear from you about how to answer the People's favourite question.

4: Select the Studies

To make sure that we have included all possible studies, we have to search wide and far. We will need your help to sift through studies to decide whether YOU think they answer the People's favourite question or not.

5: Extract the Data

Once we have our studies to include in our review. The next step is to take a closer look at them and pull out all the important information.

6: Check for Bias

Now we need to take an even closer look at the studies. This involves checking if there are any flaws (also called bias) in how the studies were done. This helps us know if we can trust the evidence.

7: Interpret the Results

We will pool all the data together and run some tests. We will then need your help to make sense of the review findings.

8: Share the Results

In the final stage we will ask you how the results of the review should be shared.
